The Celsius Sport is Toyo's Grand Touring All-Season tire for drivers of sedans, coupes, crossovers and SUVs who want capable traction for variable weather conditions with predictable and sporty handling on dry pavement. The Celsius Sport is an all-weather tire meeting industry severe snow service requirements to qualify for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance.
A tread compound employing specialized silica is used to maintain flexibility and provide traction in a wide range of operating temperatures. The asymmetric pattern is engineered to deliver predictable handling and consistent grip. A reinforced, outboard shoulder and intermediate rib utilize interconnected tread blocks with interlocking, multi-wave sipes intended to withstand cornering forces for responsive dry handling characteristics. Further inboard, tread elements feature high-density siping for increased traction on slippery pavement while helping maintain even tread wear. Wide, circumferential grooves with traction bars help evacuate standing water for enhanced hydroplaning resistance and bite into snow and slush for inclement weather traction. Zigzag-shaped blocks on the inboard elements help lock snow into the pattern for capable light snow traction sufficient to earn the 3PMSF symbol.
Internal construction of the Celsius Sport features an ultra-high performance, single-ply polyester casing designed to improve responsiveness and handling while maintaining a comfortable ride. Twin, high tensile steel belts and high-hardness bead filler provide a robust foundation to maintain even footprint pressure under high loads. A nylon reinforcement ply is added to help maintain stability and provide high-speed durability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.
