ELECTRODE Kit Information:
Engineered Cooling Products Consumable Electrode Kit V2 - The Radiator Savior
The number one thing that is likely to destroy your radiator is electrolysis. When the engine grounds or PCM grounds are old, weak or break, the engine coolant becomes a ground path. In modern builds with LSX or EFI swaps, this can be a major problem. Especially when using an OEM wiring harness that has been cut up or butchered for a swap or Corvette C5's which are "ground" Nightmares.
Vehicles at significant risk of electrolysis are corvettes, s-10 swaps, 4th gen fbodies, any EFI swap and most LSX swaps.
Other culprits include cheap Home Depot crimp connectors that are not made for automotive use. They look great when you install them, but check on them 6 months later. Especially the super cheap ones made from vinyl.
Any vehicle with ratchet old wiring is especially at risk of electrolysis. This is bad news. When too much electrical current ends up in the radiator, it’s a grim prognosis for your radiator. It’s actually a death warrant for your radiator, it’s a just matter of time until it starts leaking.
Much like the anodizing process with aluminum, when you have current flowing through the radiator, it puts the corrosion process on steroids and destroys the brazed tube-to-header joint on the radiator. There is no saving the radiator once this happens.
This electrode kit will substantially help reduce the effects of electrolysis by concentrating the current flow on the zinc anode rather than the radiator. After lots of testing, our new version has a tapped port for grounding the anode to the chassis. So the consumable electrode gets destroyed rather than your shiny new radiator.
Includes the anode, wiring, crimp connectors and instruction manual. Has 1/4″ NPT thread and works in place of most drain cocks.
Radiator fits and looks great. Welds look tight and everything was packaged with care. My ONLY issue with this (and I’m happy to update if rectified) is that the electrode is too large to fit where it’s meant to go. The only way to make it fit is to cut it in half so that it doesn’t hit the inside of the radiator. As shown below this is how much I cut to get it to fit. I think simply a shorter electrode or some other shape to get this to work from factory would be great.
Picked this up because my stock radiator had a hairline crack on the end tank. A lot of the older posts on Facebook said fitment wasnt great but I figure at less than half the price of the D brand I'd risk it. Fitment was absolutely perfect. The condenser and fans slid right into place better than OEM. Quality and welds are on par with the Koyo Radiators I have in other cars that cost significantly more.
Radiator keeps the car much much cooler than the stock unit. Hardly ever seeing higher than 210F unless Im in heavy traffic and higher ambient temps.
10/10 would absolutely recommend this to anyone needing a new radiator or looking for an upgrade.
Purchased the ECP Radiator for my C5 Z06, haven’t installed it yet but I can say this is one of the best looking radiators I’ve seen in a long time, weld quality and attention to details is amazing. I’m excited to get this radiator installed!
Thanks Brian for a great product!!

Let customers speak for us
from 244 reviewsBrian R. was extremely helpful and spent a good amount of time answering my questions about switching to coilovers. He was a wealth of knowledge and made the purchasing and installation process very easy.
He is so genuine, he helped me out on which parts I should get for my wife’s ‘16 Veloster Turbo. Parts came super fast and was packaged beautifully
Havn't installed yet so I cannot speak to the parts, as they get some run time I will review. Brian at FI was amesome though all through the process. Had questions prior to ordering and he went above and beyond in providing me with answers. After I ordered the parts he called a few days later appologizing for not reaching out sooner, which is crazy cool since country was dealing with hurricane devestation. I didnt expect to recieve parts for a while however they all showed up in about a week. I will def do buisiness with them again and recommend them to anyone in the future.
I bought Silvers Neomax coilovers with aero spring rates (14k/12k) for my track car. The quality of them is great. Install was straight forward and they are easy to adjust and tune as needed. Real happy with them so far and I think they're the best value out there in coilovers. Great price without a sacrifice in quality or performance. Also Brian at FI PERFORMANCE has been great in responding to all of my questions. Has been a great experience so far.
Quality part.
Brian answered every time I called and answered all the questions
Excellent coilovers
The best customer service from Brian
Highly recommended
Car looks great and. Handles amazing
Works great it stiffens up the rear end and no more wheel hop best diff brace out of all I have used in the past, money well spent.
Installed the After Dark hooks on my C5: the rear hook was very easy, and if you only need one hook, it's a quick and easy install. Front is more work: you're going to want a step drill or right angle adapter, since clearance between the bumper and A/C condenser is tight. Drilling into the bumper is not trivial: it's hard, use cutting fluid and make sure your drill bits are sharp. Once it's drilled and the rivnuts are installed, it's easy from there. It's a good design, well made, and at a reasonable price.
The product was originally marked for 2005 and up gx470. I managed to fit it into my 2003 by flipping one of the front hanger mounts. Sound is throaty and deep a bit loud at first. But the sound has mellowed out after a few hundred miles. Hardest part was removing old exhaust had to use Sawzall. Make sure to buy the 2.5 donut gasket ahead of time. The system is high clearance. Its tucked between the frames no chance of hang ups.
It’s the best mod I’ve done. Should have been the first thing I did.
Brian was extremely kind and helpful to make sure I was getting set up with the correct products. The Brey Krause harness bar is extremely high quality. Don’t cheap out on safety stuff this is definitely the harness bar you want in your c5. The combination of great service from Brian and the quick arrival I highly recommend FI Performance and will definitely be using them in the future!
Five stars for the parts and service. Ride quality is better than expected for a coilover setup. And Brian was super helpful in getting the correct setup for my truck
Fits perfectly and does exactly what it needs to do. No complaints.
Brian recommended these end links after sharing my plans to do some HPDE, Autocross and Street driving for the C5 Z06. The parts feel great, I did have a warranty issue that was addressed by both Brian and AFE, I was very satisfied that they took care of my issue in a timely manner as well. Highly recommend both Brian and AFE, thank you as always for your help!
