• Does NOT fit 2004 Mustang V6 models.
• 1994–2004 Mustang convertibles and 2003–2004 Mustang Cobra models may require modification due to additional factory bracing near the transmission crossmember. See Installation Note for details.

INSTALLATION NOTE

On certain Mustang Cobra and convertible models, factory bracing near the transmission crossmember may interfere with the forward mounting bracket on the subframe connector. If interference occurs, the forward bracket must be removed for proper clearance. When the forward bracket is removed, the subframe connector must be welded in place and cannot be installed using the standard bolt-on method.

BOLT-ON OR WELD-ON INSTALLATION

BBK subframe connectors are designed for a straightforward bolt-on installation on applications where there is no interference with factory bracing. Simply position the connectors, drill the required mounting holes, and secure them using the supplied hardware.

While the bolt-on installation works well, BBK highly recommends welding the subframe connectors in place for maximum strength, rigidity, and performance. Many enthusiasts choose to bolt the connectors in place at home and then drive the vehicle to a qualified shop to have them permanently welded.

On Cobra and convertible applications where factory bracing requires removal of the forward mounting bracket, welding is required for installation.

The Fox-platform-based 1994–2004 Mustang uses separate front and rear subframes rather than a full-length frame. Under acceleration, hard cornering, and uneven road conditions, the chassis can flex between these areas. BBK subframe connectors tie the front and rear subframes together to help create a stronger, more rigid chassis.

Reducing chassis flex helps the suspension work more effectively instead of allowing the body and chassis to absorb some of the load. The result is a Mustang that can feel tighter, more responsive, and more predictable during acceleration and cornering.
