Silver's Suspension Frequently Asked Corvette Questions:

Q: I do a little bit of track work and mostly street, what rates should I go with?
A: We suggest the standard 12k Front, 8k Rear setup for most builds.

Q: I do more track work than an occasional track day, either drag or Auto X, what rates should I go with?
A: We suggest the stiffer in the rear setup here, 12k Front, 10k Rear.

Q: I make big power and run sticky tires / slicks / drag radial but don't go to the track, what rates should I go with?
A: Drag Setup in either standard drag or extreme +1000whp with the valving mod.

Q: Should I upgrade my sway bars at the same time?
A: We suggest you try the coilovers out first before changing out your sways.  The reason is the shocks are digresively valved which will make the car feel like there are fatter sway bars underneath you.

Q: What happens if there is a warranty issue, does the coilover get repaired. 
A: In most cases, Silver's would just replace the part.  It's faster and more cost effective to take care of the customer with a new part vs. going through the ship, inspect, repair process.

Q: What if it's after warranty and I need to replace a shock?
A: You can purchase replacement shock bodies individually.

Q: Why have I never heard of Silver's Suspension before?
A: Silver's has been operating since 1999 and is only in their 1st year (as of 2018) in the United States.  For more back-story on Silver's be sure to check out the video's below.  

Q: Do I have to drill anything.
A: Yes, put your big boy/girl pants on, it's just a 1/4" hole for the remote rear adjuster.  Don't worry, you won't be drilling through or around anything vital like wiring or fuel lines etc...

Q: What about people telling me to corner balance the car to select spring rates
A: Yes, you can go through all the motions of putting time in and figuring out what spring rates to use on your own.  Or, you can simply tell us what you plan on doing with the car, what kind of tires you are running (drag applications) and what kind of power you are making and we can suggest something appropriate based on not only in-house testing (we did a lot) as well as dozens of customer feedback post their installations.

Q: Is Silver's TUV Certified for Germany?
A: Yes

Q: Is everything designed and made in-house?
A: Yes, all Silver's, they do not rely on other part suppliers.

Q: I hear these have Remote Rear Dampening Adjusters, how do they work?

Q: What if I have the electronic suspension, how do you address preventing an idiot light from coming on?
A: There are many reputable suppliers that can help you there with a resistor plug to trick the computer that everything is OK.  

Q: Can't I just upgrade the shocks and call it a day?
A: Without getting rid of the transverse leaf in the C5/6 suspension setup, you will always have "suspension cross-talk".  Converting to a full coilover suspension will eliminate that and allow better control.

Q: Why is there an option for ECM End Links?
A: The OEM end links are plastic and over time they get weak and break or the ball/socket is completely blown apart and dry.  This leads to clanking and banging over small bumps.  We offer a package price discount when ordering end links with your suspension kit.

Stance Corvette C5 & C6 Coilovers (STA-ST-C5C6-XR1)

Originally designed for use in professional motorsports, inverted monotube technology has many advantages over upright monotube dampers. The 45mm strut shaft offers increased lateral rigidity over competitor’s upright dampers that use 20mm shafts. If the shaft is not stiff enough it can cause the damper to bind under heavy loads and limit the suspension travel – leading to premature wear on the shaft seals & piston bands, causing oil leakage. STANCE inverted monotube dampers offer exceptional ride comfort without sacrificing performance.

Their piston has been developed to deliver a large range yet responsive adjustments. Even with this large adjustment range, each click is even and precise to provide excellent fine tuning ability. Winning races has taught us that compliance is key, even for competition setups. They know how allowed us to fine tune the valving balance providing you the ability to go from compliant & forgiving to firm & responsive with just a few clicks of the knob.

Digressive valving produces high damping forces at low shaft velocities & softer damping forces at high shaft velocities. Low speed damping gives better control of the chassis movement & provides quicker feedback to the driver, enhancing overall feel & confidence on the road & track. Digressive high speed valving profile blows off big bumps forces for smooth response, giving optimal chassis balance for maximum grip.

The Stance damping adjuster knob, or “Clicker”, is designed to offer an easy and convenient way to adjust the damping of your coilover. Their heavy-duty adjuster gives a very positive “click” for each of the 16 levels of adjustment, making it easy to keep track of your personalized settings.

Everything from wheel clearances to ride height adjustment is taken into account during the design process to make sure you experience a hassle free install of your new Stance coilovers.

Everyday Driveability

Research on the racetrack has helped us develop the Fortune Auto 500 Series into a great all-around shock absorber. Using high quality components that meet our strict standards allows us to optimize comfort, reliability, and longevity. 

Occasional Track Use 

Digressive piston technology allows for stiff low-speed compression/rebound force. This gives more control of driver inputs such as roll, dive, and squat. However, at fast stroke speeds (i.e. high speed bumps) the suspension becomes supple in response to bumps and irregularities in the road for maximum control.

Hotchkis Corvette C6 2005-2013 Sway Bars Front & Rear (hot2284)
Hotchkis Sport Suspension 2284 2004-2009 Corvette C6/ZO6 Sport Sway Bar Set.

Corvette C6/ZO6 Sport Sway Bar Set with a hollow tube bar that measures 1.25-inches in front and 1.125-inches in the rear and are 20% stiffer than stock in front and are adjustable from +30% to -15% stiffer in the rear. The result is dramatically improved cornering potential chassis balance and steering response.

Besides offering exceptional handling improvements for street driving Hotchkis sway bars work extremely well in autocross road course and open road racing applications. The lightweight hollow sway bars are formed on a CNC machine powder coated gloss black for durability and come with special high durometer dry lube impregnated rubber bushings. Stock end links are retained to maintain a quiet ride on the street. Thanks to added adjustability the new Hotchkis C6 sway bar package reduces body roll increases vehicle control and adds a new level of driver feedback and control to any late-model Corvette even razor-sharp Z06 and Z51 models.
