This does require the customer to use a single 12v key on\/off fuse\/circuit tap connection (harness included). Most car audio amplifier brands rate their alternators power by the 14.4-volt range. We all know if you can supply higher voltage, you'll get more power from that amplifier! This is also helpful for modern AGM batteries as well.  Charging them to their optimal range important for battery quality and lifespan.
